Decorating for the holidays is at the top of my list for favorite things to do! This year, I went with a simple winter wonderland style for our tree and carried that through our downstairs dining and living room area. Getting ready for Christmas with a 3 year old and newborn is not for the faint of heart but I LOVE how our house came out and we had a wonderful Christmas! Here’s a look at our Christmas day.
DESIGN TIPS FOR ANY HOLIDAY
Whether it’s Christmas, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, or even decorating for the seasons, the best place to start is with a simple theme or color palette. Once you have an idea or color, it gives you baseline when you’re out shopping and gathering pieces to spruce up your home! This year, I went with whites, rose gold, and natural wood tones for our Winter and Christmas decor! Once I picked my colors, it made it easier to say yes or no to things when we went shopping. I love when my decor tells a story and sticking with a color palette and theme helps tie my story together from room to room! Don’t be afraid to buy a few more things than you need and return them if they don’t work together when you put them in your space.
