Designing Ryann Whitney’s nursery
was more fun than I ever imagined! When I found out we were having a girl, we had just moved into our dream home! It was perfect timing for a nursery make-over! I was convinced I would have boys so after unloading all of Emerson’s blue baby stuff from her room, it was time to start planning!
We wanted our love for France
and memories we made there to be the main focus of her room. I focused on French provincial decor with soft blush colors! Since we did a complete gut job on her room, I found pieces I loved and couldn’t live without first and then filled in the blanks. We tore up the carpet and baseboards and the room was transformed with white wash wood floors, wood trim on the walls, and new baseboards.
After finding furniture that I loved
from RH Baby & Child, everything came together! I hunted for the perfect wallpaper (wallpaper is back in, by the way) and the first attempt was a total miss! Thankfully, some late night searching led me to Anewall and I found the most perfect Jolie wallpaper! The colors were perfect!
Once the furniture, wallpaper, and bedding were in,
the rest of the process was super easy! I snagged the blush rug from Overstock and filled the walls with bows, French books, candles, and dried flowers from our wedding.
Lastly, we changed the standard closet organization that our home came with. This was our only DIY project and thankfully, it went well! We did shabby chic shelf brackets to dress it up a bit and cute gray knobs for the drawers! I will probably add in a few more baskets once we see what’s needed when she arrives.
